UL Labels

In the label and decal industry, many products require certification from outside governing bodies. Label-Aid Systems understands these challenging labeling requirements, and can assist you with labels authorized by the following agencies:

  •  Underwriters Lab (UL) Labels
  •  Canadian Standards Association (CSA) Labels
  •  American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Labels
  •  Restrictions of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) Labels

UL LABELS: The UL label mark on a product informs consumers that a product complies with all applicable standards regarding use or safety. UL marks cannot be printed on a label without express agreement between the Underwriters Lab and the label company. Label-Aid Systems has entered into an agreement with UL to print three types of UL Certification Marks: (1) UL Listing Marks, (2) Recognized Component Marks, and (3) Classification Markings. All UL Certification Marks are classified as Type R or Type L Marks, and Label-Aid Systems’ UL agreement covers both types. UL Recognized Component labels are required to meet a standard indicating that the product, together with its appropriate labeling, meets UL969 testing. The UL Recognized Component Mark is separate from the UL Certification Mark, since the latter is not printed on the labels. Label-Aid Systems can also create UL Combination Labels, which display the UL Certification Mark while indicating that a product has passed UL969 testing standards.

In addition to UL markings, Label-Aid is equipped and permitted to display the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) and American National Standards Institute (ANSI) names on labels. These organizations’ aims are to recognize and certify the safety of products on the Canadian and American markets, respectively.

The procedures and authorization of labeling for safety standards can be confusing, so if you’re in need of clarification, call or contact a Label-Aid representative today. In addition to discussing your labeling needs, we’ll provide estimated delivery dates and product estimates at your request.
